The room was great - cracking view of the World Cup stadium - and we enjoyed chilling out on the roof. We ate at both 1800 and Geisha and both were among the best meals we had in South Africa. My wife also had a complimentary massage which she said was among the best she'd ever had. Yet it is the staff who make this place special, nothing is too much trouble for any of them. The Cape Royale was the perfect place to start our holiday and we both recommend it highly and look forward to returning (hopefully sooner rather than later).

Quick Check In
Check-in was swift, and upon being shown round our room I commented that it was a shame the one-bed suite didn't have a bath as we obviously bath the little ‘un every night. A few hours later we were upgraded to a two-bed suite which was absolutely brilliant - the extra space really making a difference.

Great Service
Right from the off the service was excellent - as we were due to land at 6.45am I emailed the hotel in advance to see if we could check in early, even if we had to pay a supplement as we were travelling with an eight-month-old. We were told that the room would be ready, at no extra cost, and were delighted to find out it was when we arrived at 8am after a long flight.

Good rate
We were lucky to get an excellent rate via expedia in late January.

Booked On line
It's never easy surfing the net to find a hotel, but rest assured when you go to Cape Town look no further than Cape Royale - an all suites hotel. Don't be put off. at the mention of 'suites'. We stayed with our 2 grown up daughters in a 2 bed suite and the rates were comparable to booking 2 rooms in another 5* hotel, but the suite made the difference! Luxury and a huge amount of space with large dining area and lounge, together with a fully fitted kitchen and excellent bathrooms in each bedroom with very high quality amenities. The hotel is new and keen to please. The staffs are amongst the friendliest and most helpful we have ever experienced in over 30 years of travelling!! It is centrally located at just 5mins walking to the famous V&A waterfront and the hotel offers free limousine drop off/pick up within a few kms of the hotel - you can leave the car in the guest parking area. The only downside is the traffic noise if the windows are open, but the main living area and bedrooms each have their own aircon controls so no need to open the window - other than to take some great pics! In total, we stayed 9 nights there - superb! Cape Royale is a real gem in the country of natural gems!!

Good Room Service
The rooms are excellent in size, comfort and cleanliness. We were so tired some evenings that we cancelled some dinner reservations and opted for room service. Our son loved to stay in and order room service.

Lots of activities
Madnee arranged a safari, a shark cage diving, cape point tour, a wine lands, township tour, restaurant dinners and never let us make a bad schedule or wrong selection. They looked after our son to the point of sending hot coco to our room three evenings.

Try the car service
We just returned from Cape Town July 3rd from a two week holiday for our son's 13th birthday. This hotel is excellent in location, service, attitude and staff. We had a wonderful and memorable holiday thanks to all the staff but specifically to our concierge Madnee, our private guide Peter, the 1800 degree restaurant staff and the hotel drivers. The hotel car services is a very nice convenience and added value.

Great Staff
This hotel is simply gorgeous and the staff treated us like royalty. Because we were only in Cape Town for a couple of days, it was important to see as much as possible while we were there and the concierge gave us great advice. They booked us for the "best of the Cape" tour and it was the BEST way to spend a day! I highly recommend it.

New hotel
I found this hotel online but because it was so new, there were no reviews. I got a good rate but I was nervous that it might be "too good to be true." Well, it wasn't!!

First Review
I've never written a review before on tripadvisor, but I am more than happy to write this one because the Cape Royale is possibly the best hotel I have ever stayed at! Being a 5 star hotel, I did expect good rooms and good service but the staff really did go the extra mile to make this trip a wonderful experience for myself and my friends. The staff at the Cape Royale (Ryan, Madnee, Chad, Lynn, Beatrice) to name a few, were extremely helpful with all our requests. It was my birthday, so I was given a special birthday surprise, and also, we received complimentary drinks and a token for complimentary spa treatments when we checked into the hotel. All in all, my expectations were completely exceeded; I was shocked at how well we were treated. I love South Africa, I think the South African people are the most courteous and helpful people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting, and I would totally recommend this hotel (and have done) to everyone I know as I am sure everyone would love it. It is a relatively new hotel, but I'm sure it will soon be on the top 5 list of hotels in Cape Town (if it doesn't make number 1) Thanks for making my holiday so fabulous, Cape Royale!
